Women are incredible! (Not biased with that, I swear.) I’ve always been amazed by what women can do. When I found myself in sales 18+ years ago, it felt strange. The only person I compete with is myself; I strive to be better than I was the day before. How can someone like that “beat the competition”?

Jackie Roby, Inspired Journey Consulting

This motto of mine has served me well most of the time. I always wanted to help others, train, teach, and encourage growth. After all, teamwork is important. We should be lifting each other up; especially women. People would want that for me, right?

The Haters

Real cute, Jackie. How very Pollyanna of you. Watch what you say. Be careful who you trust. Asking for help makes you look weak or unqualified. They might even think you’re trying to pawn off your work on them. Holy web of anxiety provoking confusion!

Have you felt those devastating moments when you realize the women you confided in, trusted, supported, and were loyal to would rather see you put in your place? As Lynne Twist says in The Soul of Money, why does it have to be “you or me”? Why can’t it be “you and me”? There is enough abundance for all of us.

I’ve met some phenomenal women throughout my career who helped me rise. I’m grateful for all they taught me and their genuine care. Just like that bad boss who teaches you how to be a better leader simply by doing the opposite of what they do, it’s the other category of women who make you question yourself.

Who Runs the World?

One of the greatest gifts and happiest surprises of opening my own business is all of the women thrilled to aid in my success. My life intention is to work with people I trust, respect, and enjoy. I wanted my business to be collaborative and that has manifested from day one. As a result, I’ve met women at networking events and on social media who cheer me on more than some people I’ve known for years.

This level of support is astounding! I’m proud to be part of this community of entrepreneurs. To show my care, I buy their products, attend their events, watch their webinars, promote them on social media. It’s not just business owners either. It’s kind, lovely people that want to see me win and I want the same for them. These are the wonderful humans that live up to my Pollyanna dreams.

We are here to lift each other up. Women supporting women is alive and well. And my tribe continues to grow with these empowered, beautiful souls. Thank you for believing in me!
